Your guide to flawless skin

Beautiful, healthy and nurtured skin is what every young woman strives for, and there are various ways how to accomplish that; truth is, unlike male skin – female skin is way thinner, prone to breakouts, redness and irritation due to hormonal changes women go through every month. This is why, to have a glowing skin, you need to be extra careful and diligent about keeping it healthy and nurtured.

We’ve conducted a survey on the most commonly experienced skin problems, and based on what we were asked as well as the problems addressed, we’ve put together a list of the most amazing insights that will definitely help.

I am a copywriter and spend way too much time in front of my computer; I sleep very little. My skin looks very old and tired, even though I am only 27. Is there a way to prevent that and give it its glow back?

It is not uncommon to hear young girls suffer the consequences of modern day life; spending too much time in front of the computer has an incredibly negative impact on the skin due to screen radiation. You are probably spending a lot of the time at the office under the neon lights, whichalso contributes to your skin “going gray”. Since there’s nothing you can do to avoid such circumstances, the way to save your skin from getting even more damaged is to give it a little pampering. First, make sure you sleep at least seven hours as that’s what it takes for your skin to regenerate. After you wake up, give your face an-ice shower – as Kate Moss puts it: “it momentarily tightens everything making you feel and look as if you are instantly awake”. Eat a lot of citrus products as they are known natural cleansers. Exfoliate using natural products at least once a week.

I take good care of my skin, but it still feels like sandpaper! I am devastated! Is there a way to fix this?

Many girls experience that irritating dry-skin problem, but there’s a way to fix it. For starters, never shower or wash your face with hot but mildly warm water; hot showers strip your body of its natural oil barrier, and to help trap moisture – you need that barrier. Further, make sure your cleansers are soapfree and opt for a Petroleum jelly or mineral oil moisturizer.

In the last few years I’ve noticed dark spots on my skin, uneven skin tone and freckles. It looks terrible and dirty. Can I remove that?

With this sudden climate change, this problem is taking a toll on many women.

While you’ll probably be advised by beauticians to undergo harsh procedures that do lighten the skin but primarily disrupt the skin’s natural processes (which may result in skin ultimately going duller, thinner and less able to hold its shape), we would suggest opting for natural solutions. Using coconut honey mask or lemon masks which are proven to be natural highlighters is the best thing you can do to help your skin free from the unpleasant discoloration. However, if you are experiencing skin pigmentation that seems unusual, the best thing to do is consult with your doctor and brainstorm the best solution together.
